  2. Ugh! WHy are 3rd grade girls such drama queens

Kelly and Shannon are having a birthday party this weekend and they only have 12 girls in their class. We invited all some proballty will not come but seemed dumb to exclude 3. So much snipping about party and most caused by 1 girl whom I happened to watch before and after school. Just trying to figure out this turf war thing and drama. I remember being like this in HS but grade school. ONe girl said that she is suppose to hang with "S" because Shannon and her fight all the time. REALLY. We...

  3. Head Lice

is going around Ash's school. First it was just going around the 'school' and now there are 'confirmed' cases in her class. How long will it take to 'run it's course' thru the school?? I'm already sick of constantly checking her head and get itchy just thinking about it! Is there anything I can do to make her less succeptable?

  4. Question READING GLASSES

Hi, Just a quick question regarding my 7 yr old son Benjamin. I took him to the eye dr. on Monday and after some testing she said while his overall vision wasnt horrible (slightly nearsighted), that he needed "reading glasses" to help him when he is doing any close up work such as reading, homework, etc for more than 10 minutes. This was recommended after I stated that benjamin get headaches occasionally. The dr. asked if he liked to read and I said "not really" but I thought most boys of this...

  5. Discipline

What do you do when your kids get into trouble? Does anyone have a magic way to get them to listen without repeating yourself 20 times? Kevin is a pretty good kid but he got in (minor) trouble this week at school. He brought home papers 3 times this week that had to be signed because he got a timeout in gym, and was talking and not following directions in class. Taking things away might upset him for a minute but I don't think it really works at this point. What do you guys do, especially...

  7. School TOTW Check-In: How's school going?

How is the school year going for your kiddos? Things have been busy here so I've been reading way more than I've been posting lately. Connor is doing great in 3rd grade. So far he has made straight A's on all his report cards. He has a great teacher and with her encouragement he has become quite the little writer. He is almost completely independent in his diabetes care at school and he prefers it that way. We are very proud of our (not so little anymore) boy this year. He has grown...
