My mom fell today and broke her hip :( She will be heading into surgery today at 5pm and then stay in the hospital for 2 days and then go to a rehab center for 2 weeks-month. She is very distraught about the whole thing (as am I!) and in a TERRIBLE amount of pain. Please send up a prayer if you can for a quick recovery :love_hearthrob:
Well, the big day is here. We go in at 6:30 am, and surgery starts around 8:30 am. We've fought off a ton of fear over the last week or so. Please pray for steady hands and good judgment for the surgeon--he'll decide between two versions of the procedure, depending on Nicole's spine flexibility. And please pray that Nicole does really, really well--as little pain as possible, as quick a recovery as possible, and no anxiety. Thank you!
I posted in Children's Medical Matters that it turns out he has pneumonia and a double ear infection. It also turns out that his poor mommy didn't realize how exhausted she was until she actually got a few minutes to herself to think about it. I'm so worried about him, though he is a lot better after a few breathing treatments, a dose of orapred and a rocephin shot in the doctor's office. We were supposed to go visit my grandma, who lives about an hour from us, tomorrow, but Landon and I...
hello all....i normally don't ever ask for prayers for me SPECIFICALLY but for a while now, i have needed them so i thought i would post them here.... my story is that on feb 17, i had surgery to because i had my REFLUX back about 2 years ago (8 years after having my NISSEN done for my GERD) and after tons of test, i had to have surgery because my hiatal hernia was the size of a mans fist and my tummy went THRU my hiatal hernia and was in my CHEST ABOVE MY DIAPHRAM!!!!!!!! yep, not pretty...
Please keep a RL friend of mine and her baby boy J in your prayers. He has a working diagnosis of Menke's Disease, which is terminal. She is devastated, of course. Pray for strength, she is such a wonderful mom, and she has 4 other children. I have guided her here, and I hope she comes....
Teddy was admitted to the hospital yesterday. He isn't tolerating anything through the gtube, not even pedialyte. When they admitted him he was dehydrated. He got some iv fluids but is still pretty listless and miserable.
Laura has her Gastroscopy tomorrow .I would appreciate prayers/thoughts .Thanks
Today was landen's pre-op for his PE tubes and adenoidectomy that is scheduled for Monday and his finger stick bloodwork came back abnormal. He is very anemic and the pedi is concerned. I told her I struggle to get a little bit of his milk in him each day and we still struggle to find foods he can tolerate. She had to send us for a "big" blood draw which was really difficult for me b/c he is so strong. He broke loose from me and nearly yanked the needle out. She sent for CBC and a test for...
Please pray for us as we need to be at the hospital at 545am and surgery is at 730. Pray that it is quick and as painless as possible, and that we find some answers. I have never thought that I would be putting a second child through something like this, but with Calebs biopsy 2 years ago, all we got was more confusion, so we are hoping for some answers this time around. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers! Brandi
went to the d.r for Vienne and myself. As it tyrns out I have bronchitis, and she has bronchitis and 2 ear infections. Her Dr put her on amoxicillon, which I am very allergic. I am going to give her it tonight. I hope she doe not have a reaction, because I am not sure what to watch for. if you do let me know. Anyway thanks for the prayers, I believe we are on the mend. and it was not pneumonia!! yeah.
Dh was on his way out the door to see his step-mom when we got the call that she died suddenly. 3 weeks ago, she made the choice to stop cancer treatments and was told 3-6 months to live. They believe she developed pneumonia and went into the hospital yesterday. This morning, she passed away. I'm very sad to see such a wonderful woman pass away. Selfishly, I needed her so much. She was one of our strongest prayer warriors for our family. I'm very sad that she passed away before I...
Isabella is having a repeat endoscopy, bronchoscope, impedance probe test, and sweat test starting tomorrow and running through Tuesday a.m. Typically I am not so concerned, but she has suddenly started vomitting daily and the doctors think that it has to do with her metabolic problems. The scary thing is that due to the scheduling of one of the two doctors testing her together tomorrow, she is having the procedure in an off-site hospital location and I'm very uneasy about the whole thing. ...
Please spare a thought for Eliana tomorrow as she will have an MRI to determine what the lump is and swelling in her thigh. We spent 3 days in patient with no answers and they let us go home for the weekend. She has also been running a low grade fever. It's always something.
Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers. We are still in the PICU, but addie continues to be very stable. At this point they are keeping us here only because we have no idea what went wrong to cause the crisis in the first place and I dont want to go the the peds unit until we do. MRI of brain was normal, still waiting on the liver biopsy results and lots of random labs. She is going to the OR tomorrow or tuesday to have a port placed. The only thing everyone does know is that this...
I would be so thankful for prayers for my Addie, we are in PICU right now. She had some sort of medical crisis Tues morning, dropped her sugars to 19, core temp to 95. No one has a clue what happened at this point. Lots of tests being done in the search for answers. MRI and liver biopsy coming up in a few hours. Thank you in advance to all of you awsome parents who truly understand.
Émilie will be at Sick Kids in Toronto for a second opinion. Please wish them luck.
Thanks for all the information. Sometimes I get to involved with the fear of sickness. as it turns out I am the one who caught the evil pneumonia bug. My lungs feel like they are drowing, and on top of this I lost my voice to day. I have no idea why. I thought my cold was gone, then yesterday boom my throat started hurting and the cough returned. Of course a fever came last night. My mom (who is a great nurse) listened with her stethoscope to my lungs, then said I have decrease air movement and...
my daughter was in the hospital due to a GI Bug, my dad came to see her, and held and loved her. she was touching his mouth, and nose. all things 16 month olds due. I just foud out yesterday he had (still has) bacterial pneumonia, the antibiotics are working, so it is safe to say it is the contgious form. please Vienne does not get this, her immune system was down, and she had a cold at the same time. she now has an ear infection. yikkes I am so scared for her. if she gets it she will be back...
Tayler is having her brain MRI done tomorrow morning. It is being done both with and without contrast so she has to be put under general anesthesia. I am surprised how nervous I am about it so I appreciate all of the special thoughts!
It has been 7.5 years for Hunter and 4.5 years for Matthew without any real answers as to why both boys have dysmotility of their intestines, chronic constipation, acid reflux, gerd, and malabsorption problems. Maybe he can also enlighten us to why Matthew cannot digest protein. The boy's old GI treated everything with medication and upping meds when those things did not work. We are really hoping that this new GI will get down to the bottom of these problems and give us a real answer to what...
Doug has his six month post-op cardiology check-up tomorrow. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
I called the surgeon's office yesterday because Nicole's curve has suddenly seemed worse over the last week or so--she's getting wiped out quickly after playing hard (breathing fine), reflux flaring up, and her back looks worse. He had us bring her in for an x-ray today, but the surgeon himself was out of the office so we won't hear anything until tomorrow. Please pray that this isn't going to make her surgery or recovery harder, or delay the surgery (a week from today).
Today I honour and give thanks to the family who one year ago in their moment of loss gave to my son the ultimate GIFT of LIFE and while we now share a new bond, your gift gave him time, a chance at life he never would have..forever & always we give thanks
One of my great nephews (a sisters grandson) is in the hospital and we need all the prayers we can get right now. Cameron has been complaining about his back hurting, headaches, having trouble peeing and pooping and his mom was taking him to the ped who couldn't find anything wrong. On Feb 24th his Mom and Grandma (my sister) called 911 because he started having seizures. He was rushed to the hospital where he had 2 more seizures. They did an MRI and discovered that he has a tethered spinal...
My husband's step-mom (closer to her than own mom) got her latest cancer scans back. There wasn't enough improvement for her to want to continue treatments. She had warned us that this was her last time doing treatments (4th round of cancer). We understand her decision, but it'll still hurt to see her go. She's one of our best emotional supports and just a wonderful woman. Doctors say 3-6 months, but her son that she's living with says it will probably be much, much sooner. We are...
Amanda has an MRI of the wrist tomorrow. Please think of them.

Caleb is seeing the motility GI tomorrow to find out the plan for his treatment. Please keep them in your thoughts.
I heard from Dawn earlier today and everything is OK with Kelly's scans!!! Thank goodness!!!!
If any of you remember I posted last weekend about my friend and her baby Shiloh Faith...please continue to remember her in prayer. She was 3 days old Monday and off the vent breathing on her own, the chromosome test showed she has Triploidy, 69 chromosomes. The dr's are amazed that she is off the vent and holding her own. Has anyone had any experience with this condition?
