  2. Update! I've been busy making lots of appts.

I somehow keep going back a page and losing my post so I am just going to post in parts and edit it til I get the whole thing up here-sorry I had DH stay home form work today to help me and have been busy making lots of appt. I didn't know how it would go but it actually seems to get easier each time I have to tell someone the optometrist said I have retinitis pigmentosa. I have an appt with a specialist at a local eye center on March 25 (which I may or may not keep depending on how...

  3. Adenomyosis

Today I went to see my GYN for some pretty sucky symptoms I am having during my period. She thinks I have adenomyosis, and the cure for it is hysterectomy. I don't have insurance, so she has given me a script for vicodin as I am in serious pain every single month - but if I take more than 3 pills a month - I have to go back b/c that is too many. I am *slightly* allergic to them - I get hives with them - but I figure I will just take benedryl before I take them. Vicodin are the same as...

  4. Retina pigmentosa

I don't know what to think. I know the eye dr. I normally like did a horrible job nswering my questions or really doesn't appear to know some things. BTW I don't think you should even encourage anyone to google it-UGH!! I don't know what to think and my head and stomach are spinning so bare with me please. A very short explanation, the rods and cones in the retina deteriorate rsulting in night blindness and loss of periphial vision and (from what I've read) often legal blindness...

  5. Endometriosis

Anyone have that? I think I may have it, even though I had an ablation in October of '08 I am fairly sure I have this - the symptoms are lining up perfectly with what mine are. :( I just got a HUGE lecture from my neurologist about not having insurance and how I needed to get some, I really don't need to hear it from my OBGYN too. I am in so much pain right now though. YIKES. Before I decided on the ablation I asked her to give me a hysterectomy but she wouldn't b/c of my age. I told...

  6. topimax and tingling extremities!

I am on 100 mg of topimax which I take all at night. If I don't, I don't function well during the day. I still get a lot of numbness and tingling in my hands and feet. Yesterday my tingling/numbness spread up my calf into my knee. Has that ever happened to anyone else before? It lasted a good 1/2 hour! I was at school, and I happen to have class with the medical assistant that does triage for my neurologist (small world!) and she said that it was very strange and good thing I have an...

  7. GallBladder Issues - when does the pain stop?

I saw on another thread yesterday that there were a few of you moms who have dealt with gall bladder issues so I thought I'd pick your brains for some info. I spent most of Monday in the ER, having been sent there by my PCP earlier in the morning after an exam there revealed that what I have been thinking is wicked heartburn may instead be gall bladder stones. Awesome. PCP was relatively sure it was stones and that I'd need to have surgery that day. Ultrasound and chest x-ray both came...

  8. I won't do that again!

I am not the best at remembering to take my meds, I never have been. After I was hospitalized I did SO well at remembering. The pain was fresh in my mind and I had a routine. Then when the semester ended, so did the routine and I started forgetting here and there. Recently it got pretty bad. I forgot three days in a row to take my meds. I take atenol (50 mg), flexeril, and topimax (100mg) for migranes mainly but the atenol also helps keep my boderline BP under control. So, I got a headache that...

  9. Tired of being sick.....

I very rarely get sick. I had the flu in June of 2009 but other than that I haven't been sick for years! I lost my voice the 1st of thi month, developed a fever and cough on the 4th. Fever broke after a couple days and the cough lingered. On Friday I was really starting to feel better. Saturday I started feeling icky again and today I have a 102.2 fever without Motrin. Darn it! And of course since I'm never sick no one in my household seems to know what to do...

  10. OT... need iron/anemia lab help!!

Okay this is for me and not a child but I'd love some help from those familiar with decifering labs! I got this letter in the mail from my PCP and the bottom is cut off... I need to call on Monday to find out what it says (it stops after follow up...). BUT the problem is my PCP is now out of network so I am not sure I *really* want to follow up with her unless absolutely necessary... and really do need to hunt down a new Dr (frustrating cause I REALLY like the one I have). Anyway......

  11. Fissures?

Okay, somewhat embarrassing but has someone experienced anal fissures? Every since the new year I've had one week pain free, I went to a general surgeon and he gave me a muscle relaxant ointment but I'm not sure that's doing anything. He says after that my only option is surgery. I'm never constipated, I have at least 25 grams of fiber a day and I drink around 80 - 100 ounces of water a day. Any suggestions or experiences? Thanks ladies!

  12. Question Question Anyone here had a Tubal Ligation ?

Not sure where to post so if you need to move it please let me know where to so I can see replies :) I am getting a c section (never had one so Im nervous) anyway, this pregnancy I still have the placental previa so they have to do a c section 2 weeks early. Since Im getting surgery I was thinking on getting my tubes tied since we are going to be done permenantly. It is either that or a vesectomy for DH. BUT , since I will be in there anyway I thought a tubal ligation would be the way to...
