- Child's Background
- Anna is our first born. She is growing up but is still sweet, kind, loving and funny! She is incredibly shy! I was the same way and I'm trying to get her out of her shell so she won't miss out on some of the fun things I did! She loves, loves, loves to read and write short stories!
- Child's Background
- Cade is all boy!! He plays baseball and rides 4 wheelers. He loves exploring the outdoors. He started riding a bicycle before he was 4 and was doing tricks from day 1!!! Unlike his older sister, he hates to read!!! He is great at math though.
- Child's Background
- Gracie is more like Cade than Anna. In fact, for a while she thought she was a boy of the same age! She tries everything he does! She plays t-ball and loves sports. She loves climbing trees more than anything! Somehow she gets in trees that are much too big for her and then gets stuck! Thankfully she takes a buddy with her to go get help! She has asked for a "climbing tree" for every holiday for 2 years!
- Child's Background
- Asa was our surprise child! He has been surprising us since day 1! He was hypotonic at birth and unable to suck. He became FTT at 2 months and had terrible reflux. His hypotonia was still quite severe and he was being seen by many specialist. At 9 months old, he had a Mickey button G-tube and a muscle biopsy done. When he was 13 months old we received a diagnosis of Mitochondrial disease, complex IV.
He still receives about half his nutrition via bolus tube feeds. He can eat babyfood and chew a little. His hypotonia is still quite bad. At 22 months he is unable to crawl, get into sitting or walk. He has made great progress though and is currently evaluated at a 7 month old level.
