Caeley started vomiting yesterday, I posted about it in tube feeding. But the vomiting is not stopping, she is still vomiting today, and now running a low grade fever. I called the pulmo and he told me to I could bring her in or watch her for a few more hours, so I opted to wait a little longer to see if it would get better, but so far it is not.
He told me if we bring her in they will check electrolytes, stop feeds and give her IV fluids overnight. So if I take her in we will probably have to stay overnight. At this point I'm getting worried enough that I think she needs to be looked at. Then again, she has never gotten a bad gastric virus, that could be all this is. But if there is not any improvement by this afternoon, I'm going to take her in.

I hope she's feeling much better and the vomitting has stopped so you can avoid going in. I had a nasty bug a couple of weeks ago and even tho I only threw up once, I had other problems. Connor's had that tummy bug too and he threw up for quite a while. Please let us know what happens Mary... sending loads of {{{HUGS}}} to you guys.

We are back from ER, her electrolytes were fine, her white count is slightly elevated, but not too bad. They x-rayed her chest and stomach, everything looks fine. She is still gagging and acting like she feels terrible, but we are hoping it is a gastric bug, apparently it is making the rounds right now. Of course she waited until after we got home to start having a yellow runny nose, but we are supposed to call the pulmo's office tomorrow and let him know how she is doing, so I will mention it then. The pulmo called down to ER ahead of us, so we were able to bypass all the residents and see the attending, who is very good, so I did feel better about taking her home.
As we were getting in the car to leave the hospital, Buddy said his stomach hurt, and he is now taking a nap, which is unheard of for him, so I may have another sick one on my hands soon. |

I hope everyone is feeling better soon. There are several bugs going around this area too, and they aren't any fun.
I'm so glad everything looked clear on the xrays. Get some sleep tonight if you can. {{HUGS}}
